Locking down the N5Print with SureLock

How do you prevent your mobile workforce from wasting time and money on the clock? Lock down your mobility device by creating a mobility tool, an application specific device that keeps mobile workers “on task”.

Though there may be several different options for accomplishing this, one way to prevent potential downtime is to lock down the N5Print or what is also referred to as “Kiosking” the device. When the N5Print is put into Kiosk mode, only necessary applications are accessible to the user. All other applications and settings are hidden, thus preventing the user from checking personal email, texting, or browsing the web, but also inhibiting changes to the settings that may interfere with the proper operation of your application on the N5Print.

All types of hazardous issues can arise when users are free to access any area of a device. Browsing the Internet, social media or playing games can exhaust valuable battery power, use up a data plan, or waste time that should be used for work. If users are allowed the option of downloading apps themselves, the device becomes vulnerable to the possibility of malware attacks from untrusted sources. Obviously, this can compromise sensitive data and bring down an entire platform.

So what is Two Technologies’ answer? SureLock!

SureLock is an application that secures devices allowing for responsible usage and improved productivity, while helping to reduce maintenance costs. SureLock allows only desired applications to run on a device, while also preventing the use of any unintended changes to the device’s settings. The only way to access locked down configurations is with a unique administrator login to a password protected settings panel.

    SureLock:

  • Allows quick and easy installation and configuration
  • Increases workforce productivity by restricting application use
  • Reduces time and cost for device maintenance
  • Has a customizable interface for a cohesive look of the locked down device
  • Grants easy mass-deployment with cloud export and import of settings

The N5Print can be setup in “kiosk mode” restricting users to a single application that is required for their job. Users can be blocked from the device’s home screen or from changing the N5Print’s settings. The SureLock home screen will only display predetermined approved programs and widgets or custom app shortcuts. The SureLock interface can even be custom branded to match your company’s branding of the N5Print.

Most of the time, an application like SureLock is all that a business needs for more efficient, effective and focused device use.
